Best YouTube Ad Campaigns to Use Right Now (#1 of 3): Hot Search

After managing millions of dollars in AdWords campaigns
for the past 8 years I can tell the AdWords war is not getting any cheaper.

It’s a bloodbath and if you’re not fully trained & armed to the teeth you’re gonna get hosed.

That’s why I’m always on the hunt for new pockets of cheap but quality traffic.

And in this short 80/20 guide I’m going to share with you one of the top 3 Youtube strategies I use across my 3 channels with over 130,000+ subscribers and 14+ million views and for my clients to get more leads and customers.

Want to Save Thousands on Click Costs?

Let’s kick off with a real world example.

One of the services my agency offers is full-scale elite pay per click management and optimization.

If I wanted to go the traditional route of targeting prospects searching Google here is what I can expect to pay:

A whopping $45.94 – $70.58 PER CLICK!

Per click simply means they clicked the ad and ended up on my landing page – NOT that they’ve become a client.

Ummm… no thanks.

Even with high value clients I know there are better streams of traffic available on the web.

So let’s see what happened when I used the HOT SEARCH campaign on Youtube:

BOOM!

$0.92 PER LEAD.

Not click.

Per LEAD.

Meaning the prospect has taken direct action to express interest learning more / working with my agency.

I’ll take that all day long over 70 bucks a click in AdWords.

What is a HOT SEARCH campaign?

HOT SEARCH campaigns target prospects on Youtube when they are “in heat” ie – expressing interest in learning something or solving a problem related to your product or service.

In short, it’s targeting only prospects who type their problem or question into Youtube (the 2nd largest search engine in the world).

Like this:

Which allows you to speak to their problem DIRECTLY with your ad:

As you can see from the example above, most advertisers like Toyota USA don’t know what they’re doing on Youtube so they’re blowing money and making it even easier for you to dominate with just a little bit of up front work.

Right now there are only two ad positions in the top so it’s easy for you to win simply by being relevant to what the prospect is actually looking for.

Creating Your Hot Search Campaigns

I follow a simple 5 step process to roll these out for myself, clients and coaching clients:

  1. Create video campaign in AdWords

    2. Uncheck all Networks but Youtube Search

3. Select Keyword targeting

Pretty simple yea?

Some Things to Keep in Mind:

  1. Your video is everything – you need to deliver value quickly and have a call to action in the video for what you want viewers to do. 3 minutes or less.
  2. Include a link to your offer / call to action in the video description
  3. Keep in mind people are on Youtube typically looking for “how-to” information, what initial problems are they trying to solve and typing into Youtube? THOSE are they keywords you should target & videos topics to focus on.

Right now these campaigns are dirt cheap and very limited competition.  I’m sure in 3-6 mos that will change, but here’s your chance to get ahead of the pack.

Good luck!
